Ravid is TAU’s Country Representative in Bangladesh. Working alongside the Asia-based investment team, he focuses on deal flow in TAU’s target countries, having been instrumental in creating TAU’s transformation investment plan and developing the TAU Lab Factory in Bangladesh.
Ravid has six years of factory experience in Bangladesh, the Middle East, and throughout Southeast Asia, where he has worked as a researcher, consultant, and financial analyst to factories. Prior to TAU, Ravid was a Research Fellow for the LSE and Oxford economic research program, the International Growth Centre, managing research projects on climate change, tax collection, aquaculture, and database building. For the University of Warwick, he managed an economic intervention study evaluating the impact of training in 55 Bangladeshi garments firms, partnering with Innovations for Poverty Action, the International Finance Corporation, and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). In the private sector, he consulted for several private Bangladeshi factory groups on strategy, merchandising, and capital expansion. In Jordan, Ravid conducted an assessment for the ILO/Better Work on the Garment Workers’ Centre in the Al-Hassan Industrial Zone. Ravid holds an MPA in International Finance from Columbia University and a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University in Connecticut. He is fluent in Bengali and Spanish.
